How to Delete Your Account and Data

This page explains how to delete your Vantage Log account and the data associated with it. Vantage Log is a mobile application published by Vantage Log (brian.berg@ascend-solutions.info) that helps general aviation aircraft owners digitize and organize copies of paper maintenance logbooks.

Delete Your Account From Within the App

You can permanently delete your Vantage Log account and all associated data directly from the app:

1. Open the Vantage Log app on your iOS or Android device.
2. Sign in to your account.
3. Open any aircraft you own → tap Manage Account from the Aircraft Hub.
4. Scroll to the Data & Privacy section at the bottom.
5. Tap Delete account.
6. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Your account will be removed and your data scheduled for deletion as described below.

Alternative: Request Deletion by Email

If you cannot access the app for any reason, you may request account deletion by email:

• Subject line: Delete My Account
• Send from: The email address associated with your Vantage Log account.
• Body: Please confirm you want your account and all associated data deleted.

We will verify your identity, process the deletion within thirty (30) days, and send you a confirmation email once complete.

What Data Is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from Vantage Log's production systems within thirty (30) days:

• Account credentials — your email address, password hash, and any linked authentication providers.
• Profile information — display name, phone number, pilot certificate type, A&P/IA certificate number, avatar photo.
• Aircraft records — every aircraft you added, including tail number, make, model, year, serial number, current tach/hobbs readings, aircraft photos.
• Engines and propellers — every engine and propeller record associated with your aircraft, including make, model, serial, TSN/TSMOH/TBO values, install dates, notes.
• Log entries — every maintenance entry you created or captured via OCR, including dates, narrative text, tach/hobbs readings, part numbers, work order numbers, signer names and certificate numbers, AD/SB references, inspection tags, and the photographs of physical logbook pages you uploaded.
• Documents — every document you uploaded (registration, airworthiness, weight & balance, POH, STCs, insurance, avionics manuals) and the underlying document files themselves (images and PDFs).
• Squawks — every owner-logged maintenance note, including descriptions, severity tiers, and attached photos.
• Preferences — your display, notification, and capture settings.
• Notification tokens — any push notification tokens registered to your account are revoked.
• Subscription records — Vantage Log-side records of your subscription (payment records held by Apple or Google are managed by them and subject to their retention policies).

What Data May Be Retained

Certain limited data may be retained for legal, security, or backup-integrity reasons:

• Backups — routine encrypted backups of our database and file storage may contain your data for up to ninety (90) days after deletion, at which point they are overwritten in the normal course of backup retention. These backups are not restored to production absent a disaster-recovery scenario.
• Legal or regulatory holds — if we have a legal obligation to retain specific records (e.g., transaction records for tax purposes), we may keep only what is strictly required and only for the period required by law.
• Aggregated, de-identified analytics — usage statistics that are not tied to any individual account may be retained indefinitely for the purpose of improving the Service.

Deleting Individual Records Without Deleting Your Account

You do not have to delete your entire account to remove specific data. Within the app you can delete any of the following individually while keeping your account active:

• Individual log entries — from the entry detail screen.
• Individual documents — from the document view screen.
• Individual squawks — from the squawk form screen.
• Individual engines or propellers — from the engine or propeller edit screen.
• Photos attached to log entries, aircraft, squawks, or documents — using the "Remove photo" affordance on the relevant screen.

These deletions take effect immediately and follow the same 30-day production removal timeline as full account deletion.
